The Early American Cupboard

Built by Wallace sometime around 1953, and lived much of its life (as I remember it) in the dining room of his home in New Jersey — and however many homes that came between its construction and when they moved into the one he and Jean called home one last time.

Based on the year that he would have built this, and what I estimate the year to be on the DeWalt literature of that time... it sure looks like he built the very cupboard showcased on at least two of their ~1952-era publications. I've included the cover for one of them here (which would also have the drawings/plans for its construction). When I find the time, I’ll be scanning that original brochure to share the full plans/details Wallace would have followed when making this.

A number of the photos have been colorized (however roughly) from the original black & whites. After many years in storage, it’s certainly due for a loving restoration.
